To
Access Your Mailbox
-
Dial
the VLC check-in line, 713-942-1616.
-
Dial
your four-digit voicemail box number.
-
Press
the *
key when the greeting begins.
-
Enter
your 4-digit passcode.
You will be told how many messages you have.
To Play Messages:
-
Press P
to Play the first message
During message play, press the * key to go back (i.e., "rewind") 2
seconds.
-
During message
play or after the message has played, you may
= press P
to Play the message again
= press D
to Discard the message
= press K
to Keep this message
= press G to Give this message to another user
- enter the user's box number
- press X to send
= press A to Answer this message (if from another user)
Note: You must Discard or Keep
a message to move on to the next message.

Repeat steps 1
& 2 until you are told you have no more new messages.

After you have
played any new messages you have,
simply press P to begin playing any messages you have "Kept" in a
previous session and follow steps 1-2 above
To Make a Message for another User
- Press M to Make a message
- Enter the user's four-digit box number
- Record your message
- Press X to send the message
Using Distribution Lists
Distribution Lists allow you to Make and Give messages to groups of people
on the system. To use a list, simply substitute the two-digit list number
(i.e., 01-09) for the box number in the Make and Give instructions outlined
above. Each box may have up to nine distribution lists.
- Press U for User options
- Press L to modify Lists
- Enter a list number (1 through 9)
- You may then
= press A to Add a box to the list
= press D to Drop a box from the list
= press N to record a Name for the list
= press P to Play the list
- Press X to exit lists
To
Change Your Greeting, Name and Passcode:
Your
Greeting is what callers hear when they reach your mailbox. Your Name
is how the system addresses you (e.g. "Hello, Michael. You have two
new messages").

Press U
for User options.
-
At this point
you may press:
= G to change your Greeting prompt.
= N to change your Name prompt.
= P to change your Passcode.

Press X
to eXit user options.
To Exit the system:
Press X
(for eXit).

Note:
It is very important that you remember to press X
to exit before hanging up. Failing to do this will sometimes cause the
system's count of messages in your box to become off by one (e.g., this may
cause the system to report "there are no new messages" when there is
one message). Pressing X before hanging up will avoid this problem.
