We will follow your instructions to relay your messages back to you. You can have us relay calls verbally, use one of our automatic dispatch options, or a combination of the two.

Relaying Calls Verbally

Relaying the call verbally (i.e., by calling someone) is often the best way to make sure a call gets through. Your instructions can be simple or complex. Here are two examples:

  • Example #1: "Call me on my cell, leave a message in my voicemail if I don't answer."

  • Example #2: "Determine product group, consult on-call schedule for that group, call primary on-call on cell, then primary on-call at residence, then call secondary on-call on cell, etc." (we call this an escalation list).

You can combine verbal relay instructions with our automated options (see below). Here are two examples:

  • Example #3: "Patch urgent calls through to me on my cell, text message me if no answer. E-mail any non-urgent calls to my normal e-mail address."

  • Example #4: "Relay urgent calls to on-call per instructions (e.g., see example #2), and automatically fax a copy to our office every morning."

Automated Message Relay

Using an automated method whenever possible will save you money. We charge for operator time (i.e., relaying calls verbally) but our automated services are free. Getting your messages by an automated method is also often much more convenient.

Here are the options we offer:

  • E-mail. Receive your messages directly in your inbox, as they arrive. Messages can be sent directly to the person the caller requested or sent to specific people based on the type of call.

  • Text Message. Receive your messages in an abbreviated format on your mobile device (cell phone, Blackberry, Treo, etc.).

  • Fax. Receive your messages by fax, either as they come in or on a scheduled basis. This is handy for getting a copy of all messages from the night before sent to you every morning at a scheduled time.

  • Voicemail. Collect your messages from a voicemail box we provide you, or from your own voicemail at your office or on your cell phone.

If you don't see exactly what you need here, just ask. We'll do anything within reason and within our capabilities to meet your needs.
